Anyone have any recommendations on jogging strollers they either like or, perhaps more importantly, don’t like? My daughter is almost 6 months now and just graduated to her umbrella stroller from the one using her car seat. I’m starting to think she might be up for some short runs with Dad when the weather warms up a bit, and as a result my wife has authorized the acquisition of a jogging stroller… Thanks in advance.
We have the Dreamer Desig Rebound and have had zero problems with it. Good solid product with shocks for a smoother ride… I don’t know a lot about other strollers except that you don’t want the front wheel to move from side to side.
When I went looking for a jogging stroller, I wanted one that can be converted to a bike trailer as well. One other benefit of the jogging stroller/bike trailer is the the trailer is more enclosed. No chucking toys out while running/ trailering. And if you want the cadillac of jogging/trailers, you’ve got to check out chariot carriers. I’ve got the cougar. It has tons of accessories and the rolling resistance is really low with bigger wheels than regular jogging strollers. The stability is also great. I think the cougar is a better deal than the CX (both chariot models). - E
We have the Bob Revolution. The front wheel pivots so it’s great to use as a day-to-day stroller (malls, amusement parks, etc.), but you can also lock the front wheel for jogging. Plus, it has shocks and is easy to fold up.
Bought it at www.tinyride.com about a year ago.

If you’re into other outdoor activities with the family: Biking, xc skiing, I would recommend the Chariot. It has attachments that convert it to a bike trailer, and skiis that go onto it for the nordic center.
It has been a great investment, 4 thumbs up - two from me, and two from my son.
I have the Instep Safari TT pretty cheap compared to the other ones out there. Works almost as well as the models for 2-3 times the price. Whatever you do get one with a rotating front wheel. The fixed wheel is great for flat roads and tracks but put a serious crown in the road and you want that flexibility
We have been very happy with a Kelty single stroller. I can remember the model. We have put over 2000 miles one it. As for a double we have been very very happy with the dreamer design double that one only has about 1000 miles one it.
I have been extremly pleased with my Kelty stroller, the front wheel doesn’t rotate, but this has never given me a problem…I love it and would buy another in a heartbeat…but I don’t think I’ll need to as it has held up quite well over many, many miles!
The market has expanded quite a bit since I last used one. I had great luck with the Kool-Stride single. Many memorable runs along the English Bay beach trail in Kitsilano Vancouver with my son in the jogger and Max the wonder dog running along with us. These days, I would look at the Chariot Carriers as well. They seem to have outstanding flexibility in terms of switching easily from running jogger, to bike trailer to even a ski pulk!
I highly recomend the baby jogger. Get the performance one with the 20 inch wheels. We have the single and the double and they are great. I have looked at lots of them and have not seen anything close. They fold flat and are easy to put together. Can’t say enough good things about them.
I can’t tell you how much the Bob Revolution rocks.
It jogs just great, but the pivoting front wheel (it locks for jogging, swivels for strolling) is worth its weight in gold. Plus the whole thing folds up super flat. Perfect product.
chariot cougar was the best we found…super adjustable so if you are looking for that it converts into bike trailer, cross country skiing and also hiking. A little pricey, but well worth it as the quality is awesome and super durable. Just a heads up that chariot is no longer making their strict baby jogger, the cavalier, so the only choice now is the cougar
We started with the single BOB Ironman. This is an excellent stroller. I have no complaints about it.
Then we wanted a bike trailer and we got a double Chariot (but primarily used it for running) which is also excellent and before our second child came along, found that the double was useful for one child as we were able to pack more toys into the cockpit. I have even rigged it with a portable DVD player a few times. I can put up with a few songs by the purple dinosaur if I can get an extra 2 miles in. The Chariots restraint harness is the only thing that our little Houdini has not been able to defeat.
Currently we have added a double BOB Revolution and this thing is better than a free massage after a race. One of the things about the Revolution that throws it into greatness is the fine tuning knob to set the tracking for the front wheel when it is locked. Perhaps all the similar type of jogging/swivel wheel models have this sort of thing but I never tried the others.
In conclusion:
Single BOB Ironman; great but since I have tried the Revolution I would not get a fixed wheel because the swivel wheel model is much more versatile.
The Chariot; the double is lighter than the single Bob and drives great, the restraint system is awesome but it is very pricey when you start adding modules.
BOB Revolution; if you are willing to pony up the high price tag, this thing is great. It folds easily, very good restraint system and easy to dial in the tracking.
My daughter is 5 1/2 months old and push her all the time in the Bob Ironman. She loves it and is usually sleeping by mile 2. Love it. Not sure about all the others, but it’s nice to have choices. Congrats on your new addition as well.
