I appear to have had my first run in with joggers haematuria (peeing blood after a long run). While it does not appear to be a serious situation, does anyone have experience with how to prevent it from happening in the future? Banging the walls of my bladder together, over and over, cannot be a good thing in the long run.
Thanks in advance.
It’s hematuria, have you seen a urologist? It is tough to say, it is something you can live with. But you need to see a urologist to rule out any serious causes. Check out this link:

Good running!
I have not been to a urologist. This was the first time this had ever happened. If it continues, I’ll make an appointment, but I’m hoping this was an isolated incident.
Thought I’d post as I have had several incidents of this over the past 3 weeks. It had never happened before in many years of running and I had been hoping it was an isolated incident or not really blood and related to something I ate or drank, but finally had a CT scan done and found out today that a few kidney stones are the likely source. So in my case, there’s not much to do except hope they work their way out soon!
