He went out through the bathroom window…
Legendary performance:
A true legend RIP
.
Liked most of his stuff but…
Worst concert I ever attended. Blue Oyster Cult opened for Joe Cocker in Colorado Springs, summer of 1974 or 1975. Good grief, but he was awful. Drunk, stoned, or some combination of both.
However, I gave him a pass on that night. RIP

Being stoned on stage and John Belushi’s impressions made Joe Cocker.

Sad news. I had not heard this yet.
I’m not feeling too good myself.
Cocker? I didn’t even know her.
– I think David Letterman said that once when Cocker was on his show.
He went out through the bathroom window…
Your reference to the window made me curious, I know some of his music but not a aficionado. Cancer took his life.

“She came in through the bathroom window” is Beatles song that Joe Cocker rather sucessully covered in the 70’s. I’m sure you’d recognize the tune if it came on the radio.
Saw him at an Isle of White concert - wonderful singer and band - RIP Joe (perhaps the most original air guitarist ever!) ![]()

He covered quite a few Beatles tune, ‘She came in through the bathroom window’ was one of them.
I always thought that most of his stuff was meh, at best, and never understood the appeal of his music. Having said that, his cover of Come Together for the movie Across the Universe was stellar.

I’ve never been tempted to purchase his music, but I’ve seen him I think twice at festivals in the mid-80s and his live show was amazing. Never have seen anybody put so much of himself into a performance.
It probably helped that he was usually slotted in towards the end of the night, when everybody was drunk/stoned/rosy from a day in the sun, or all three, and nobody needed angry punk or thoughtful alternative guitar music anymore.

Those were hard drinking days for Joe. True story; at the Orpheum in Boston, Joe came out, threw up and staggered off. The Boston Phoenix titled their review of the show…
‘‘What would you do if I threw up on my shoes, would you stand up and walk out on me!’’
