Is Trump confused here? Does he understand that it was (probably) Kim Jong Un who had his own relative killed, and (probably) not the CIA?

Yes, Trump knows it was KJU who killed his own half-brother. The reporting suggested that KJU’s half brother was a CIA informant. Trump was denying that he would allow that to happen “under his auspices” but why would Trump not want his intelligence services to have information from this potentially valuable source. That said, my take is that Trump would say something like this whether KJU’s half brother was acting as an informant to the CIA or not. It makes sense diplomatically to deny he was a CIA informer. So in this case I think the flap over these comments by Trump is a little misplaced (assuming he is not being honest when he says he would not allow the CIA to use a family member of KJU as an informant). This is the one time I’m ok with Trump lying!

There is no denial, as far as I can tell. It sounds like a corroboration to me. E.g. to paraphrase, “Prior Presidents used your half-brother as a CIA informant, but I wouldn’t have allowed that.” is what I hear. Only it seems to be a corroboration based on accepting the WaPo’s journalism at face value, not from his own knowledge.
Second, I’m not sure he’s lying. When he says Kim Jong Un’s letters are “beautiful” is that lying? When he says that he believes that North Korea under Kim Jong Un has “tremendous potential” is he lying? And even if he is lying, does he really thing that this sort of simpering/patronizing tone is genuinely a good play, like it’s part of a grand setup for Summit III or something? It’d better be a good play for the cost of announcing to the rest of the world that arguably the worst person in the world writes “beautiful letters” and makes the U.S. President come running twice for a state visit. And that the worst, most despotic failed state has “tremendous potential” under that despotic dictator.
So I disagree with you. These are the worst lies in my mind. I can accept “Mexico will pay for the wall”. Promoting the worst people and worst states in the world is bad precedent. Remember back in the day when Obama was taken to task for suggesting he’d meet with Iran with no pre-conditions? What happened to those days?

This quote is simply showing where a Biden administration would place a lot of emphasis. It’s political hyperbole. You’d think after listening to Trump all these years you’d be familiar with it.
I’m a Biden supporter. Had we had Biden instead of Obama, we wouldn’t have Trump now. But I think Biden is dead wrong about the Republicans cooperating. The only way to get anything done for the people of this country is to make the Republican party a very small minority that can’t obstruct the future from happening.
