As per our meeting - I said I’d outline the requirements for a US managing director. If you could get this into Bain circulation that would be great. Someone must know someone! Chairman is ex Bainee (for 5 years)
The brand www.rapha.cc has taken off this past year. Product is technical, great styling - luxury sport. Sales are running at £2m, of which 30pct is currently from the US. Sales all over the world. Profitable and just completing final development capital funding. Recently solicited by Puma worldwide and tie up with Paul Smith. Business model has 85pct sales online, with only a few carefully selected retail accounts. We control customer relationship and margin. In the US we have just 5 retailers stocking product. The US market is probably 15 times the size of the UK and we have amazing feedback from US customers. Many came to london to watch the Tour de France with us!
US MD will spearhead growth in US and build the business

- “gets” the brand, experience in any of consumer brands/retail/wholesale/ecommerce
- entrepreneur, doer, self starter
- marketeer, publicity and brand manager
