Jersey Shore Kick-Off RR

Just raced down in Bayeville today with some great company and great race directors.

My report: http://triathleticism.wordpress.com/2010/05/16/516-jersey-shore-kick-off/

33rd Overall
5th in 20-24 AG
1st in ACTUAL AG (19 and under)

Great time was had by all, I believe

FYI…if the race was USAT sanctioned you are in the 20-24AG…whatever your age is on 12/31/10 is what you race for the 2010 season. That is why you were put in the 20-24AG, eventhough you are not 20 for a few more months.

Completely incorrect. For USAT rankings, he would be put in the 20-24 AG, but assuming there was a U19 age group, he would have been put in that age group as that’s his age on race day.

are ya sure…

3.2 Age Group Competition.
a. All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s
age on December 31 of the year of the event.

Yeah…I know I know. Still a bummer. If only I had an early birthday!

I stand corrected!

Thats funny I know Tony! Good guy fast swimmer, my son wrestles with his son and I have ran with Tony a few times. Suprised he has Zoots on. Bastard’s been sand bagging  Small world, nice race.

I think he finished in an hour, or something like that. That’s sandbagging? Boy I’ve got a lot of work to do…

No he has been sandbagging me. You know saying stuff like “Had to work, no time to run.” “I havent been able to get to the gym been swamped at work.” Stuff like that. Well that was before this x-mas probably true. Actually have not talked to him since end of wrestling season. He is a good guy knows his wrestling and is also very good and level headed with the kids. He really knows how to teach them also a very good open water swimmer and does a lot of the long distance ones around the tristate area. I will have to drop him a line bust his chops a bit and talk some smack for the N.J. State Tri.

Aaahhh…now I understand.

I actively wrestle (collegiately). If only I would have known. The run would have been so much more interesting!

Glad you enjoyed the race. (I was the guy you met afterwards in transition with the Argon18) Careful, you won’t want to stop and your bank account will never be the same! Hit me up if you’re ever out riding in the Long Branch area. (I’m training much this season, but I still try to get out as much as I can.)

Ha ha! Congrats on the Podium finish, amigo!

How’s being pro?

Pro?! I am no pro, my friend! Just an amateur who grew up swimming and loves riding his bike. (Check my run splits to see why I never quite made it to pro level!)

What’s so bad about a 6:29? Duprex only beat you by -2 sec a mile!
