What do you mean? The vibe I got was "just happy for now to be in the mix, I had never been in the mix with the top guys before and I knew I had it”.
I realize that you have a huge man crush on Jamie but listen again to his Cairns race plan "half of me really wants to go out there and shock the world " and “I may be the only one with no real weakness” and he plans to “stalk” whoever is on front of him and win in the last second. Hey,he might get there but seriously be a little humble until you have actually done something major in the sport…and how he thinks if they give him a T100 contract he could make the season end podium. That is a big call.
He also thinks that Kona “might lose it’s spark” because the T100 will be the big race series. I will be surprised if the T100 lasts another 5 years.
For sure,he is the Tri medias new boy of the future and he has huge potential but the Aussie in me cringes at some of his statements.
I’m surprised that T100 didn’t find a way to get him into Vancouver in this last wildcard round. Having San Francisco and Vancouver so close kinda screwed him over as he is in the top 10 right now but then likely won’t be after Vancouver. Hopefully he gets more starts as he is a contender for the podium.
Interesting comment on the prize money. I haven’t compared the two series, but the PTN guys (who are slightly Ironman biased) have multiple times said that prize money between the series is more or less equal now. Not sure who’s right.
FYI, I no longer have a mancrush but am still a fan. You have a point but also not really a major one… big goals are important in triathlon and if Jamie is being cocky, then so be it, humility is boring, and boredom is keeping triathlon niche; screw that crap
But yes, the musings about the future were “optimistic”, point taken…
I examined this like for like when @SamYoYoYo1 asked in December, making like for like athletic performance.
If interested, Thorsten’s EoY money table and his commentary is well worth reading.

I think he should probably just tell us that he’s going to race his plan, execute and give 100%.
Bummer, it’s interview gold. Comedy Central: Ozamataz Buckshank’s Post-Game Interview - Key & Peele
I would much rather hear from athlete’s with this attitude than have to listen to athletes like Knibb and Ditlev all day.
Thier results do the talking for them.
Don’t get me wrong, I love watching them race, but my god the sport would be boring without the big personalities like Lionel (or Jamie).
I must love Australians because I found an alternative site, please check if it works (seeing as you don’t use a VPN):
I actually only love Will McCloy, but glad it worked!
