…and no I’m not talking the ones Mr Delmonte squeezes either!

Right I need some assistance, advice, pointers in the right direction…be nice coz this is a tender subject but one which may be closer to the hearts of many of the forum members than they would like to admit!

After a fair old while of trying for sprogs my wife and I had the usual interview with the quack and had some tests run and guess what? I’m slightly on the los side so far as sperm counts go…2.5 million as opposed to the average of 20 million. Now this is a bit of a concern but at the same time not that much as we’re still aware that we can make some rugrats but that it might just take a while and a whole heap of patience.

Now this is where you folks may be able to help, what do you collectively know about cycling, lycra, pressure on the perinium (sp) and racing saddles in relation to fertility? Pointers to info, personal experience or professional opinion are all welcome.

I’m currently riding around 15 miles a day so nothing too extreme but I am sitting on a Fizik Arione razor of a saddle which can’t help. Sshould I be changing my saddle…if so what for…should I be not wearing lycra…should I be standing out of the seat for more of my ride?

Cheers in advance for your help,
Stu

All I know is that they say briefs are worse than boxers. (Overheating issue.) So you gotta figure the lycra and racing saddle can’t be too good.

Maybe you should take a break from cycling for awhile, and take the opportunity to work on your swimming.

My wife and I had reproductive issues. Both fertility doctors (hers and mine) had donr IM distance racing. Both said bicycling had nothing to to with the issue you are having. If you want more info we can chat via PMs.
