Iwatch data to strava w/o using strava app?

I really don’t love the strava interface on the iwatch so I usually use the native apple run interface. But I’d still like to load all my data to strava. Is there a way to do this without using the strava watch app, post run? I have a lot of runs stored on the apple that I’d love to move over to strava. Or you know, they didn’t happen.

I have had an Apple Watch since launch. The quick answer is no, Apple has no path for data exchange to other platforms.

The longer answer is that Apple’s creation and separation of the Health and Activity apps and data is total hot mess and an architectural failure. That design decision makes the device the worst activity tracker and the worst fitness tracker available on the market. The only fix is a total redesign of these two apps into a unified app that has bi-directional data movement a path to export fitness data in one of the standard formats. Also, Apple needs to build a web app to support the fitness and activity tracking features, but Apple does not do websites. So, that may never happen.

The RunGap app will do it. With WatchOS 3, though, the GPS tracks are not exportable. That will change with the upcoming version 4.

So, I need to wait for the next update and then download that app and I’ll be able to pull the data down and over to strava?

RunGap works today. It just can’t send GPS data to Strava. So your workouts will look like treadmill or trainer workouts. You’ll get speed/pace, distance, time, and heart rate only.
