Here in Portugal. Thought I might give some updates. We are here on an island off the coast. Getting here was a nightmare for most of the American team. Well perhaps not the athletes but for there bikes. Almost everyone had issues getting there bikes and some there luggage. Someone from Maui had to wait three days for both and I think some poor kid still hasn’t received anything. I says this because he’s been wearing the same shorts and t-shirt every day. Yesterday we watched the World Campionships for Aquathon. Reed for the land of Oz won or he might be a Kiwi. Cool race. I hope this kind of racing catches on.
The swim will be from a floating pier. We are taking bets on how many people will bust there butt on Saturday running across this thing. It rocks quite a bit with only a couple of people on it. Should be good fun watching. The bike course was misrepresented. It can almost be call mountainous…calling it hilly does it no justice. Just out of transition is the only flat. Hell, getting to transition involve climbing. There are many grades of better then 9%. all are better then 6% and the worst is 13%. My girlfriend is scared to death of the down hills. I think all of her soreness will be in her shoulder from all the white knuckle rides down the hills. If it rains it will be a mess. Most of the cars and all the trucks and buses are diesel. The mix of rain and the oil from the diesels will make this place a blood bath. The run is mostly flat along the coast. Should be easy.
I will do some more updates later.

PS Yes, wheels are being made while I am gone just not shipped. I like to see everything that leaves.
