There about 40mins in with all the favorites together.
i following live from my camping tent somewhere deep deep deep in montana mountain!!! i cant beleive north face expedition tent have wireless!!! i love technology!
good simon!!!
Really nice coverage… wow… you can even hear the announcers and stuff.
Simon is looking well placed as we come to the end of the bike as are Tim Don and to a lesser extent Stuart Hayes.
Jonnyo, have a look at www.bbc.co.uk/sport it’s on there and you might have a better screen than the ITU as it is live on bbc interactive tv here.
AS usual it’s all going to come on down to the run with everyone in T2 within 5 seconds. Come on Tim and Simon.
That was a fantastic run by Daniel Unger, he really earnt that title. Pure heart.
wow what a run… I was rooting for Gomez but all top 10 ran crazy fast
WOW - amazing final 2K.
Nice way to spend my Labor Day weekend on the couch still packed in ice :o(
How can you not love ITU racing?! That was f’in unbelievable.
Congrats to Simon for earning another (third or fourth?) Olympic team spot.
Docherty vs Potts…loser shaves…that’s hilarious.
Holy shit, what a finish! Team BAMF gets two guys in the top-10 too.
ITU Races are just f*king amazing! pure raw speed / zone 5 / red zone all the way…!!! and the crowd , 300,000 spectators WOW.
Andy Potts great race in 11th.
Same as you Brian… here in my couch, legs on the Ottoman, coffee on the table, the perfect way to spend the Labor Day morning after my morning run ![]()
Draft-legal is soooo boring. I hate when you don’t know who’s gonna win until the very end, I like when the last 4 or 5 miles are ceremonial.
I’m on a mac, I can’t type in pink.
As a side note, that Gomez is nasty! One thing i’m looking forward to is the post-Beijing influx of ITU guys in 70.3 and Ironman racing. Guys like Whitfield, Potts, Bennet, and Kemper–who have ‘ho-hummed’ a few early season 70.3 and non-drafting wins, will really tear it up if they switch.
Awesome coverage, awesome race.—though, I would like to see a more challenging bike course.
How about Bozonne? Course record holder at Wildflower and now a 7th at the ITU World Champs and a favorite to make the Kiwi Olympic team.
This is what they say after every Olympic cycle…those fast ITU guys will now move over to Ironman and shred the legs off the LSD guys, but after Sydney and after Athens, it really did not materialize. The ITU guys will tear it apart at 70.3 as the training is actually very similar and there is really no nutritional strategy aside from pounding back ~1000 or less liquid calories (pretty easy to do).
But yes, ITU racing is way more exciting…I still think swim-run-bike would be a more exciting format resulting in a breakaway at group in every race and then a peleton forming gradually scooping up riders and then it becomes a question of whether the early escapees can work together and stay away, or whether they get engulfed TdF style…
Been here in Hamburg all week. It was just amazing too see these guys smoke by on the bike and run just inches from your face. Unreal and very inspring! ![]()
Been an awesome week here and the racing at all levels was just great! Congrats to all the Team USA members! ![]()
JImbo
hot damn I wish I could swim a 17min 1500… oh yeah and then run sub 30 off the bike as well;) Man that’s exciting looking, makes our oh so PC draft free triathlon look pretty boring!
