ITU Worlds Elite Women - ON NOW

With 4 Americans in the top 12 and the Canadian team in the second group about 1-min back. It’s going to be a crazy run.

and the best thing is, in the 5 min I’ve been watching, I’ve already seen more racing then after watching the IMH broadcast twice
.

Fernandes is a machine…

ITU may suck at doping controls, but their coverage is the standard. The race for 2nd and 3rd is going to be great over the next two laps.

Wow, Bennett must be pissed off having lost out to Snowsill for Silver in the last k.

Great coverage, my only comment would be the small screen size and that they still manage to distort the images.

They do have great webcasts…but the style of ITU racing makes it much easier to do that than for IM racing.

According to a couple German news sources they estimated that 270,000 spectators watched the elite women’s race in Hamburg.
I saw the webcast too and I enjoyed it. Vanessa was amazing indeed and had a fantastic and smart race and Emma Snowsill’s come from behind silver medal was an act of grit and determination. Although I have to admit I felt bad for Laura Bennett to get passed in the last 200 meters.

I wonder whether or not Emma’s race last weekend in Chicago affected her performance today. Vanessa seemed untouchable, but it might have been a little closer?

Well considering how little work Laura did on the bike I was actually quite glad for Emma. It just seemed more fair to me.

I think the race in Chicago had little impact for today. These athletes are such unique performers and their bodies seem to have adapted to crazy travel plans and racing weekend after weekend. Snowsill would have missed that first group most likely anyway, and that first group was indeed determined to stay away and pushed the pace to increase the gap.
