Who won the ITU race today? I haven’t seen any results.
I was announcing and watched most of the race, before I had to go to work for USADA. kemper, Fretta, Murphy, who is only 20 for the men. Friman was in third most of the run but lost in a sprint to third.
For the women; barb, Canadians Lauren Groves and Carolyn Murray in the 2 and 3 spot.
Pretty warm day w/ temps at and over 100F during the ITU race.
I watched the pro race. Say what you will about ITU racing, those guys and gals are incredible competitors. It was real hot today (probably well over a 100 during the run) but the leaders had it under control (a lot of the back of the pack racers were dying). Hunter and Barb were far and away the class of the field and looked real smooth. A local guy I know did the pro race and said it was the most physical swim he had ever been in (it was his first ITU race).
