I’ve read all the setup information for a tri-geometry or a road-geometry, however I’m not sure exactly how people are setting up their road bikes for tri races - ITU setup? My question is- what are the best things to do to the road bike for a triathlon event - sprint and half?
I put on some short VisionTech clipons, other than that the road setup is identical. My bike has a 74.5 STA, which I ride at 73 degres.
In my opinion, you are on the right track with the ITU setup. I tried a forward/low position on my old road bike, and the handling was terrible. My bike is perfect with this setup.
Yeah… ITU Setup BUT only for sprint races… in a half you should use aerobars in a lower position. It’s really uncomfortable to be on a upper aero position (with the ITU you have to have shorter aerobars) during the 56 Miles of the half…
For short races (sprints and olys) I use the 3T mini sub8… they allow you great handling. The Jammer from profile seem also great but never really tried them. Some guys here use also the 3T(?) Bio-Arms but they cut them so it will be ITU legal.
