ITU Age Group Rules

If this is short course the USAT site says six minimum from 08 nationals. Wonder what the process will be for the other 10.
My gut feel is that 09 nationals will get the other 10 since nationals will be held before worlds (Nov 15, in Gold Coast, Queensland).

where did you see that date ??

The 2008 Age Group National Championship will have a minimum of six World Championship slots for 2009 World Championships in Gold Coast, Australia. Date to be determined

I sent a note to Jeff at USAT earlier today asking about 08 LC worlds. He is at the Du race, so may take a few days to get a response.
Cool. Let me know what he says. Thanks!

thanks. looks like a nice course. i’ll still bet $$ that there will be few takers for this…too far, too costly, bad time of year, conflicts with IM and 70.3 also.

I wouldn’t be too sure about. Sure, the US team at LC worlds in Canberra last year wasn’t at full capacity but LC worlds has always been a low turnout event and we still had >100 athletes (or about 1/6th the field). Yeah, it’s far, yeah, it’s costly but most of that is the flight. Bad time of year? It worked out well for me and I live where it’s freezing by that time of year. Conflicts with IM and 70.3? Well, yeah, but many who would race SC worlds wouldn’t care or could forego LC for a year
