made a sign for my xc team tomorrow saying “[town name’] puts the FAST in Belfast”. We’re going to the Festival of Champions meet - 7 races, some seeded and some unseeded, a frosh race for each gender. Kids are stoked. Huge meet that brings teams from all over New England and eastern Canada.

Finally have something to post for this month. Back at the high desert pool, which is good as the meet pool is about the same altitude. Gonna swim today and tomorrow, 2 days off with travel day, and hit meet pool on Tuesday for a light warm up and get acquainted swim. First event is 400IM, first event of the morning too!!

hello from swim slacking. Ran 10 mi in 1:56:34 as I had to be on the xc bus at 7:30am and that didn’t allow for a Sat swim.

GREAT meet, we were at the Festival of Champions

Glad you are feeling better WR, you guys are coming into summer season soon, no? Have you picked out any events that tickle your fancy, perhaps some destination races?

Got in for my last real swim today, with the intention of doing a proper taper work out. Figured an easy warm up and then a few fast things, but the swim gods had something else planned. Did my first 100’s on long strokes, 1 less per lap, and right away I knew I was on fire..So tickled just about everything with some easy speed and did a couple broken 100IM’s just for some strokes. Good last feeling for sure going into Wednesday’s 3 day meet with 9 events to swim:

3x100sm paddle@1;40(1;23/21/18)3x100frog@2;10(1;55/53/49)3x100big paddle@1;40(1;14/10/06+)100IM kick(1;54)

Love this month’s title, @Dr_Tigerchik you’ve done it again.

Last race report of the season: did “short course” Swimrun today on Cape Cod. Finished 4th overall, but the strong guys do the medium or long. First swim (800 yards) was a mess as googles were filling up and had to clear them 3 times. Same ones I’ve raced with all year, so not sure what happened. Runs went really well as did the second 800 yard swim, after I over tightened the goggles. Last run was 2.7 miles and felt good, finishing very strong. Felt more horse than fish. Did overall corse in 1:14. No splits to review and runs were single track trails. Water was 64F and air was 65F, so ideal weather.

give yourself credit… and nice race!

can’t stand goggle issues.

Enjoy the meet Monty. To be honest I wouldnt mind belting the living shit out of myself for a birthday set, and then hang onto a bit of fitness for some early season surf races after that.

We have an interclub on Friday night. Have no idea what I am in.

Felt a bit hurried this morning so went to work early and then left work early for a swim. 45 minutes as 400 or so warm up then 15x100 worth of short rest in scm. 300 or so warm down. Felt much better than I did when i woke up this morning

that workout looks fun @apmoss

3.8 mi jog 43:48, 4700 yd swim. LOVED that last 300, felt almost like it should. Two fast M HS kids in the pool this AM and it’s fun to have them there. Father of one is a swim coach and it always ups my game to know there are people on the deck who know what a stroke should look like. (The child is a freshman so no license yet)

What are those? Like a once a month or so among the folks you work out with, or is it anyone can come? Do you get to pick events you swim, or does some coach just throw you into whatever?

I got to Utah yesterday and decided to go ahead and jump in the pool to get the 6 hour drive out of me. Pool is SCM and was a beautiful 78 degrees, something I virtually never get to experience. Its at altitude but nearly the same as my home pool, so at least I’m used to that huffing and puffing.

Just did about 700 of 50’s and then did some dives trying to do the new(to me) swing the arms around and up. Surprisingly I think I may be able to do it, although my goggles flipped off several times as I forgot to tuck head down. Focusing on one thing that is new tends to lead you to forgetting other things I suppose. Will do a few more today, but I “feel” like it is a better entry.

Actually, some guys from the states are coming out (I dont know who, what for or why) and are doing a Friday night event at our club - and the coach just threw me in to a few 50s and relays. He knows I dont care what I swim in as long as I get a few swims. This is a once a year thing as last year we did it with another local club. Like being a kid again hey!

Man 78 is perfect for swimming.

Quick swim today. 200 warm up then 3x500 d 1-3, 30 second rest, hard 50, maintain that speed for 200, harder 50.

short set today, reset my plans after the first 200IM, so very tired..

200IM, 5x200 as evens pull, odds swim, 5x100IM and tapped out..

rode 40mi yesterday but it wasn’t a hard session, not sure why so wiped.
thinking about the 25k trail race (for some, just a run for me ha) on Sat, it hurt a lot last year and I’m now a tad shy.
