It's got Bike in the Name - So it HAS to be GOOD!

Fat Tire Bike Amber Ale, it’s alright but I kinda prefer blondes

Sorry, have to state the obvious, there is no “Bike” in Fat Tire Brewery’s name.

So I’d already drank 1/2 of the 6 pack before I posted… There’s a PICTURE of the damned bike on the label, isn’t that good enough?

That is one of my three go-to beer selections.

Damn you, now I am thirsty.

and I have to say, in my defence. The brewery is New Belgium of Colorado (how the hell did that get up here to Alberta?) and the beer’s name is Fat Tire in honour of a bike bicycle ride across Europe. It’s an alright ale but it relies on hops to carry it, in my mind that’s not the path to beer nirvana. Having said that, the beer is fine and would make an awesome shock top!

Love me some bike bicycle riding!

Sigh, I deserve that.

I don’t think beer is meant to go with your Paleo diet book in the background.

I wondered how long it would be before the twitch patrol would catch that

It’s very good for American beer which either tastes like piss or pissed on hops. I still prefer New Belgium’s Sunshine wheat beer but very little availability outside of Colorado.

Both Phillips and Spinnakers in Victoria have beers with bikes on them. Phillips Slipstream is a nice reddish-brown ale and Spinnakers has a lighter kolsch type they brew for Tour de Victoria.

they also make a decent Lager called “shift” in 4 packs of cans. IIRC the can has the picture of a chainrings or gear set on it. while there are better lagers, it’s not too bad.

Picture is worth a 1,000 words.

ETA, I’m on my second one.

That and Kona Long Board are my two favorite beers.

Don’t drink Kölsch!
