It's back and it's Pearl White ! (pics)

So I decided instead of getting a new ride I could paint my P2K and give it new life.
After a lot of ST searching I decided white is the new black and threw in a pearl flake to give it some shine.
Having it professionally painted made a huge difference, the frame looks completely different from the old red…I think it looks faster

It sill has the old cockpit but I put a new Easton fork on, next might be the brakes as the Diacomp’s are pretty much done.

Nice bike. If the cockpit is comfortable keep it, but definitely throw on some smaller brake levers, the new SRAM levers are very nice and the carbon would look good with your fork and wheels.

Also, you gotta spend the $50 and throw a carbon bottle cage on, the metal one just isn’t cutting it on your black and white machine.

Looks good…and yeah…get rid of those brakes!

how do you like that saddle? i have a P2K as well and would love to hear how it works for you.

Love the Adamo on the P2k, no numbness and feels great.
On my road bike I’m not sure, I’ve only tried it for 4-5 rides on the trainer, the longest was 90km on Sat, it was pretty good but I may go back to a standard saddle and compare.

What did it cost to paint? I have almost the same setup including the seat and wheels, but with Zipp Vuka base bar. Looks good. I was thinking of having mine painted as well, but didn’t know cost/where to go to have it done.

It was $275 including stripping off the old paint.

The job was done by a guy here in southern Ontario named Stefan who does paint for a small custom bike shop.

I looked around for someone who paints bikes instead of cars so it would get done right and I am really happy with it.

ditto the brakes. I got some used vision techs VERY cheap. I would also get an aero base bar.

Looks great in white and with the easton fork.

I like it. White is the new black for bikes. It is interesting how really nice frame design becomes more appealing under a nice paint scheme that lets the shape sort of shine through.

That said- Man, I think it needs some kind of decals or something, but then again, I still put stickers all over my bikes…

I would put a “screaming sumo wrestler” on it some where if I could find one

The way it looks now I think I’ll keep it decal free and let my legs be the advertising

.

Where/what is Stefan’s shop? I’d like to get my '03 Dual repainted, and I’m in Toronto.
