i don’t remember. i believe the first of those titles he rode on a steel QR, and as i recall he rode a 57cm. but after riding this e-bay bike i think lance ended up on a the 55cm version of this bike, because it was more his size. he was way out front in another nat’l championship race, which would’ve been his third title, when his front wheel blew up and he had to DNF during the bike (this in las vegas). on that race he was on the 55cm quintanium if i remember right.
now i have to remember who has this 59cm. i believe dan neyenhuis had the 57cm if i remember right, he is emilio de soto’s partner in de soto sport. but the memory’s not very good on this. maybe john hammack. i don’t know.
these quintaniums were built by litespeed. nobody at the company now was there back then. and this wouldn’t be a 1988 version, as the e-bay listing says, we didn’t race our first QR tri bike until early '89. this might be a 1990 version, that would be my guess, late '89 at the earliest.
