It's a boy, woowooh!

I have been away from this forum for the last two weeks for a good reason : I have become a father for the first time on december 19.

It’s a boy, his name is Kami (which means Prickly lizard in australian aboriginal, go figure why we chose that name, maybe because it sounds cool and different, or maybe because his abondant hair have adopted the punk look), he is 51cm and 3,5 kgs.

He already did one powercrank session on my trainer, but has not fully adapted to them just yet. He has already ordered a P20Carbon for his 20th birthday, with Zipp 909 wheels.

Now what happened with those slowtwitchia t-shirt things in the last two weeks ??? Last thing I know, I ordered two t-shirts on Sperera’s e-mail.

Happy Father

Awesome job. Well done, and all that. But I guess your better half did the majority of the work! Cool name: Kami. I used to date a Kami, years ago. i always thought the name meant frigid bitch. learn something new everyday!

I wouldn’t be too hard on him about the powercrank thing. he probably hasn’t mastered walking or using a toilet yet either.

Thanks Felix. Maybe you’ll see him at some race in Switzerland this next summer !

Congratulations Diabolo!

Well done on being a father for the first time…as many know I am the father of 2 boys…Sean (10 months old) and Nicholas (3 years old) and they’re waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay the best thing to ever happen to me…

…one thing though, if you’re gonna be ‘there’ for him the training will go out the window…

and if he’s breast-feeding and waking up all through the night…oh boy…

…and when he starts teething and wakes up in agony during the night…oh boy…(I’m at this stage with Sean…he has 7 teeth out and more coming through…last night was tough!)…

…and if he’s an ‘uppie’ baby like Sean i.e. he likes to be up in your arms all the time…oh boy…

But hey…fatherhood defines you as a person…you really get to know yourself…i.e. if you choose to be out all the time training instead of being with your boy you’re DEFINATELY a selfiush bastard…but if you sometimes find yourself training on the indoor bike trainer at 11pm when all are asleep…then you’re thinking of them first!!!

On another note…Cervelo are doing all the Peaceful tribe stuff for us…a link to buy the apparel will appear where their ad is at the top of the forum page…

Many congrats.

Now you know what it is like to hold 1million dollars.

Andy

Congrats, we will have to see if gerad will do a peaceful tribe sleeper.

Congratulations Diablo! Im also expecting a boy in about a week. No sleep but a lot of fun! Make sure you get a baby jogger.

hey Felix, that’s Simon and Jöel yes??? I looked at your site!!!

Yes, my advice to new father triathletes is not to get too consumed by training etc and remember the kids are only babies once and they grow up pretty fast…

…then you’ll regret not being with them…unless you’re a pro athlete NOTHING will be worth the time missed with them…

Like your youth, time with your kids will never come back to you…

Okay, so I’m crap anyway and don’t win any races but I love training as much as anyone here believe me…

congrats =)

Nice work…my Benjamin Lee was born on the 27th…He’s my 5th and last…
