A Canadian man shot dead by police after running down two soldiers, killing one, with his car was a depressed conspiracy theorist, who had recently become influenced by radical Islam, according to friends and authorities.
Martin Couture Rouleau of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, was shot dead at the end of a high-speed police chase near Montreal.
He had struck two members of the Canadian Armed Forces with his car at a car park in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, about 26 miles (42km) southeast of Montreal, and then fled the scene.
One of the soldiers hit died of his injuries hours after the attack, while the other suffered from less serious wounds.
“It was a terrorist attack and Martin died like he wanted to,” a close friend who preferred not to be named told The Star newspaper. “He wanted to be a martyr.”
The friend suggested Rouleau carried out the attack in response to an appeal by the Isis (Islamic State) group for jihadi sympathisers across the world to launch ‘lone wolf’ attacks on westerners “wherever they can be found”.
Also just heard a story about 2 or 3 women from the US who were stopped before they could get to their ISIS future husbands. They are among us and you are now a target. Plan accordingly.
They are among us
People with mental health issues? Yes, they have been for some time now.
This is exactly what this is. At every level of society there are people who quite can’t fit into the mainstream. Either because they lack certain social skills or have mental problems. Those with social skill issues adapt by finding acceptance among people like them - think on all those Goths, Dungeons&Dragons Nerds, or Lavender Room Denizens. Unfortunately some of the ones with mental health issues go a step too far and join groups far outside acceptable social norms - i.e. ISIS, Al Queda, or Fox News Editorial Staff.
Even if not a true mental illness, the rate at which people seem to be inspired by radical Islam in N. America and carry out an attack of some sort are so low, you’d almost be better off preparing for the Ebola. Might as well take to wearing a helmet because you’re afraid something is going to randomly strike your noggin. Probabilistically I’m sure that is orders of magnitude more likely to occur than a terrorist getting you.
More American citizens are killed by their furniture each year than by terrorism.
Your fear is exactly what terrorists want, hence the terror part.
I’ll even give you an anti-Muslim site for the stats, http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/americanattacks.htm
It claims, 3,107 killed by Muslims in America in 75 terror attacks in the last 40 years. 2976 of them were in the 9/11 attacks. So other than that there have been 131 people killed in what this guy claims are Muslim terror attacks. He also lumps in things like honor killings and the DC sniper as Muslim terror attacks. So his count is way high and still only amounts to 3 a year outside of 9/11.
People with mental health issues? Yes, they have been for some time now.
Yes they have. We provide many of them with little or no support because it’s cheaper then helping them. I
don’t know if this person could have been helped or not but I am sure his actions will fuel the discussion
on mental health support.
So we now classify religious radicals as simply just havjng mental issues? So does making that claim stop them from acting? Would throwing pills and creating a name for this specific syndrome stop the " crazy" person from acting?
Would explaining to these types that they are just mental stop them from acting when they have a gun at your head? What in the percentage of chance you will die when one one of them has a knife at your throat changing his love for his God?
Numbers and names are nice and make us feel good but the point I was making is being prepared is free, shit happens and if yih think thus kind of thing is something that only takes place in the ME then obviously you are very wrong.
The chances of me being struck by lightning are pretty low but I still don’t go out and play in thunderstorms. Does that make me an alarmist it a realist?
