This looked like a really neat race. I’m excited to see the pro race. Lots of good men facing off in the half distance. Should be exciting!

Are you interested in doing the race?
Thanks,

I’ve seen some media on this event and it looks like an impressive race proposal. The area is perfect for multisport and that island chain is simply a jewel. It is unfortunate more people in the U.S. aren’t familiar with the region- put I would equate it to the very best of the South Pacific islands and even areas like Laguna Phuket.
This event shows a lot of promise. I’ll get down there for it one day- I really enjoy the Caribbean.
Thats great that you have seen out event in the media…anything in particular? The area is beautiful and perfect for a race of this magnitude. Hopefully one day you can come and experience the race.
Thanks,
Hala
Hmm… I see this is now postponed to March…
No apology though… which is nice
Island Triathlon Series™ (ITS) has been described as a new and exciting luxury brand that will redefine the sport of triathlon.
Our early success in establishing the brand can largely be attributed to our stellar team, led by four-time international award winning event producer, Hala Events & Communications Inc.
Our vision to create a unique sports property is being realized with the support of our premium partners including; K-Swiss and Turks & Caicos Tourism Board. As the support of our partners is an integral component to the successful execution of ITS, we have decided to postpone the inaugural event to Saturday, March 29th, 2008 to accommodate a title sponsor which we will announce in the New Year. All event elements, including our worldwide broadcast and celebrity involvement will remain the same for our 2008 event date and we are confident that ITS will continue to present both our partners and participants with an exceptional experience.
We express our sincerest gratitude to all those who continue to share our passion and vision. We look forward to realizing it, as we head toward the finish line together.

Following up on this, and my slightly hasty email at the time, in response to an generic email I shouldn’t have sent, I can’t commend the organisers of this event more.
The day after heard about the cancellation, we got personal calls from the organizer apologizing, and all the obvious stuff such as refunds, discounts for future events. However, in addition the organizer took time out to help get us get back our cancellation charges on our airline tickets, and generally make sure that we suffered no inconvenience whatsoever…
Outstanding, and thank you. We will certainly try and attend future events, despite the postponement this time
