Isaac Carbon Joule

A friend of mine has been pointed towards an Isaac Carbon TT frame; from the pictures on the website (http://www.isaac-carbon.co.uk/index2.htm) it looks pretty sweet, and I heard a rumour that it’s related to the bike that Millar rode at Hamilton - does anyone know anything about these bikes?

I don’t think this is the same bike. I have an article in a Cycling Weekly of January (UK Publication) on the guy who designed Millar’s bike. Will post back when I get home.

From what I’ve seen the Isaac looks like a good bike. Made by Principia (Denmark). Very good carbon work. I will have an opportinuty to “test” the bike on the 14th of Feb at the following event. I think I will take some pictures and report back…

A friend of mine has just had one of these built up. It is made by Principia and uses UCI legal geometry (groan). The tube sections are similar to Millars bike but no, they are not related.Millars was a custom moulded version used only by the GB cycling national teams. If you want one they cost marginally more in the UK as the Giant TCR Carbon. Plus opt for the Matt version as I found the gloss version to be a little heavy on the lacquer.

I purchased the Isaac Joule on the weekend. I haven’t built it up yet. The finish is more of a flat or matt black, based on the web site I thought it would be slightly glossy.

The build quality appears to be ok, it’s not a Colnago but it’s pretty good. I had an issue with the bolt on rear derailleur clamp not correctly fitting the frame. I took it back and got a new frame - the guy at the bike shop said it just needed a little filing.

The head tube is enourmous! Not in height but in width.

It’s not close to the bike Millar used at worlds. (I saw his bike at worlds).
