Is this P2SL worth it?

I am looking at purchasing a 2005 P2SL as my first tri-geometry bike. This bike fits like a glove so that is not an issue. It is obviously used with about 1K miles on it but looks well maintained (very clean and all parts look basically new). It is pretty much stock with upgraded Profile aero bars. The seller is asking $1600 and is firm on this price. Is this bike worth that dollar figure in an excellent but used condition? I am pretty much already sold but could use some others to keep me from having the predictable “buyers remorse” that I flirt with on any big ticket purchase. Thanks for the help.

Coop

what wheels and group are on it?

There was a P2SL just on Ebay. It didn’t hit the reserve and ended at US $1,226.00

I think this dude will be waiting a while to get $1600 in my opinion. I wouldn’t go any higher than $1400.

The p2 SL is certainly worth $1600,

You can find a 2006 P2SL for 1875 at www.insideoutsports.com. The bike is shown as a demo test-ride bike.
The reviews I read all say tons of good things about the bike. Would love to hear someone telling about how it rides.

as markus wrote.

do a “items sold in last 90 days search on ebay” to check real market prices.

great bike, but $ 1,600 seems like a lot for that model used, even in great shape.

Abything else? I’ll would love to get one for this 2007 season but do not have the oportunity to test-ride it. How long are you riding yours? What about the fitting issues? Any trouble with the “old” Wolf fork?
Thanks, Marcos.

The only problem with inside out is there are very few sizes left. You have to call to see what is left; they were sold out of my size.

I rode a 2006 model with the new Wolf fork. I know plenty of people that are just fine with that model.

As for the fit, for me, the bike was too agressive for long distance riding. I needed a taller headtube.

The bike is incredibly responsive to power being put into the crank arm. It is fast and it steers masterfully. It just wasn’t for me for half/iron distance racing.

this sounds like too much money for a used P2SL. I bought a new 2005 for not much more than that. Aluminum bikes are practically being given away right now. Take a look at the 2006.5 QRs. 2007 Geometry but 2006 paint. I was just looking at them at Tom Demerly’s (www.bikesportmichigan.com) and they are very nice bikes. You can probably get a new bike for about what the seller is asking for the used P2. I like my P2SL, but I would rather have a brand new bike, IMHO.

I bought a new 06 model that is black & white anodized. The new one is gunmetal grey. So if the color matters, the used one may be the one to get. The black and white looks better to me.

I thought the Dual was grey and the P2SL was still b/w? No?

Nope, the P2SL is grey, and the dual is silver. Check the website cervelo.com.
