Is this bike legal in Tri's? -- Or how's my fit?

No this is not me.

Can’t wait to hear the ST comments on this one…

What the f*ck is that over his eyes?

I’m betting it’s easier to pee on the bike in this position.

I think that bike is cool and I want to try it
.

It’s mirrors at 90 degrees so he can put his head totally down and see forward lol.

That’s one position where the Adamo would NOT be a good saddle…

DAMNIT!!! You beat me to it!

In all seriousness, I think it is illegal, I’m pretty sure recumbants are not allowed. Probably would be crazy fast though…

His seat is too high.

I want to see him on a steep climb, out of the saddle.

Of course its fast, look how blurry the background is!

i wonder if Profile Design makes a riser kit for that?

I fail to see how this is any more aero than a standard recumbent with the rider lying on his back.

it might be lighter and more efficient since the chain isn’t 12 feet long

Perhaps for a RWD. I’d think that weight would be negligible and remember aero trump weight  but I’d be surprised if the efficiency would drop dramatically enough to justify lying on your stomach.

I would bet that it takes a lot more, energy to ride. Your abs would, have to contract against your body weight as well as pushing the pedals. Also your hamstrings would have to hd your legs up in a way that no other bicycle requires.

Im sure its more aero than a saftey bike but less fast.

Good point, also lying on your stomach would also compress your diaphragm making it harder to get a full breath, also making you less efficient.

maybe.

the best way to test this?

a race! stomach bike vs recumbent!

Or as it’s better know “Battle of the Nerds!”

Not legal in tris, but neither is this one (but I’d want to try both):
