Is there such thing as a download of the NBC Kona Ironman program?

bit torrent? stream? etc?

That would be cool. I haven’t seen it. I think you and I may have to wait for the DVD from the Ironman folk.

Haven’t found one yet. Will check again now.

Yes! The webcast footage from Kona is on Peter Reid’s website.

Some of us have dvd-enabled tivos and don’t need to download it from the Internet.

I wonder how people shared things like this before the Internet…

I actually recorded it on my PC. If there’s interest, I could edit it to get rid of commercials, and set up a torrent…

Yes please! Lots of interest over here…

I would love to do a DVD mail and return (a.k.a B+P) to you for the DVD’s.

My club is looking to get it on DVD for the next club meeting.

Thanks in advance.

The only problem is I recorded at VCD quality…not full dvd quality. So the broadcast is only about 1gig worth of video. Not sure how good it will look when played on a tv. It looks good enough for me to watch on my computer, and when I’m riding the trainer though…

Before you go to the trouble of doing a B+P deal, let me give it a shot and see if it’s worth it.

nbc telecast version was posted in alt.binaries.multimedia.sports a few days ago.

is that link still active…I kept getting a dead link from the one you posted.

Thanks

The Peter Reid link takes you to the same link as Ironmanlive.com.

a throwback to the phish trading days…pop me a message and we can work something out.

How can you save the video to a PC and burn a DVD??

alt.binaries.multimedia.sports is a newsgroup, not a web site. here is a guide to newsgroups:

I’ve cleaned up the video, and got rid of commercials. For those of you who would appreciate a smaller download file, although compromising quality a bit can download this DivX Avi (500Mb) at this link.

If there’s interest in a higher quality (VCD quality) download we can try to figure something else out.

i tried downloading the file from the link you posted but the following is the message i get: Unfortunately, the link you have clicked is not available.

Your transfer cannot be completed. The file has most likely exceeded its allotted bandwidth or has been removed by the original sender or a recipient.

This is awesome! … but can someone who has successfully downloaded it put it on emule like the 8 hour version? Thanks!

wow…that was quick…

did anyone get it successfully?

I think I’ll try and set up a torrent since ther actually seems to be a fair bit of interest in this…
