Is there a way to calibrate the Computrainer while 3D is open?

Is it possible to calibrate the Comptrainer while 3D is open but I have not started the course (the animated figure is on the start line)?

To date, I have been unplugging the cable while I calibrate which is a pain the ass.

Start the course. Calibrate it. Hit reset and then start the course again.

I don’t know how to do this either. When I’m in 3D, it says PRO on the unit and won’t let me do anything. I have to warm up for 10 min, calibrate and then get off bike and start 3D. Not a big deal as I’m not in 3D more than once a week but still a pain.

Start the course then hit pause when you want to calibrate. Unplug cable to computer from the controller unit, calibrate then plug cable back in and continue on from where you were.

From the Computrainer forum:

You can calibrate your CompuTrainer in the middle of a ride. To do so (while the timer is running), press F1 to pause the race, then press F3 to enter the calibration program (the routine is now as described in the Basic Manual on Rolling Resistance Calibration). When calibrated, press F3 to save and return to the Race Screen. F1 now resumes the race.

From the 3Dreadme.txt file.

Exactly, just found this out this week. I’ve been doing a warm-up in ergo then calibrating and starting the software. Since I’m not usually all that worried about the precise measurements to the last decimal point of accuracy I like being able to calibrate on the fly.

That only works with the more recent software versions…so if it doesn’t work, you need to update your software.
