I was under the impression that the Centaur crank was staying Al this year.
But, cbike.com says that one can be upgraded to for $120 (see http://www.cbike.com/groups2.htm).
Do such cranks exist?

i don’t know but when you order it post pics and a report ;). how does the weight of centaur compare to 105 and ultegra?
I think centaur is about like Ultegra weight wise, maybe just a few grams heavier.
I’m not sure where you are reading the the Centaur compact comes in carbon, all I can see is this:
2007 Campagnolo Centaur 10 speed Group without Headset or Hubs (8 pieces) $779.99
2007 Campagnolo Centaur 10 speed Compact Alloy Group without Headset or Hubs (8 pieces) $779.99
.
Campagnolo
Compact Centaur
Crankset
Upgrade: 2007 Campagnolo Centaur 10 speed Compact Alloy Group without Headset or Hubs (8 pieces) $779.99

(Add $120.00 for Centaur carbon compact crankset) Lockring

.
cool. thanks man. maybe this isn’t as chic but have you looked at the new sram rival?
There is a Centaur Carbon Compact Crankset. There however is NOT a carbon one for 2007 with the new BB system. The lower image is of the 2007 groupset.

wow. great looking crankset. What is the bcd for it? 110?
You know, I have no clue what the BCD is of the compacts - I need to find out. I have the new Record Carbon 2007 Ultra Torque in 53/39 but that will be 135 like all prior Campy I am sure.
It should be a standard 110.
And you’re probably better off with the old style tapered square anyway… ![]()

Of course not, Campag is above adopting petty standards set by other, inferior companies. It’s slightly different from 110.
