Sometimes when I click on the forum, or respond to a post, or try to post something it takes forever. It’s not every time, but it seems much more regular lately.
Is the forum slow or is it just me?

You are right, the forum is as slow as an overinflated tubular tire on a rough road.
The good news is that the forum being slow is also an indication of forum success.

I wondering if the perhaps the Slowtwitcher Missing Son thread is pulling a LR Hottie thread effect, slowing down the triathlon forum. Maybe the original poster can restart the thread and Dan can eliminate the original?

yes, it is SLOW and twitching. Soon, my computer will freeze and then CRASH with the new infiltration of the latest bug that is NOT giardia or other parasites-- besides that of a little weak minded white man that hacks in and infects these sites. Yeas…it happened here once before that I know of. I didn’t come back for a LONG FRIGGIN time.
It has to do with Forum activity. So, when it’s slow there are a lot of people using it. I notice it every once in a while, also.

it’s been a little slow over the past 3 or 4 weeks. i’m working on it.
It’s actually not that bad as far as forums goes. I only really notice the speed when doing a search.
You just might not have come across it. There’s been an intermittent lad that’s pretty noticeable at times lately…
I’d been having issues well before the “Missing” post and it’s just been getting worse.
Seems worse here at work with DSL than at home with cable.
However same problem both places. Open several posts open fine, then the next one takes forever.
Previewing and posting takes quit a while.
Also I posted a while back, well before the “Missing” thread of occasional errors. They are always correlated to long access time.
I have a hard time believe that the “Missing” thread with 277 posts, all text, is anwhere near the effect of the “hottie thread” with thousands of post with a gagillion links to pics.

Chances are the database just needs some downtime to be optimized.
The volume of this forum is high, but it’s no where near the volume that some of big forums out there see.
