That’s it, no more updates for me.

Everytime I am told to download the latest updates to improve my computer’s performance, everything slows to a halt.

I had this same problem but, luckily, it is an easy fix. You probably have your computer set to update only when something intelligent or interesting is posted on ST. Uncheck this radio button and then your computer will update even when total garbage is posted.
