In my opinion and after about 6 different saddles, the Arione tri is the best one I have come across. What are your thoughts?
haven’t tried the arione tri, but i love my arione. best o the 4 saddles i own by far.
I also concur - have the world champion edition with the stripes down the middle for my road bike. I do like the Azoto better for 1/2 IM distance or longer though with extended aero periods.
I haven’t been paying attention lately, but did you get your cervelo yet? Have you raced on your arione yet? After only riding it for a 30 mile test on my trek tt, I decided to use it 2 days later for my first 1/2 ironman and was one of my best decisions ever. I posted the 2nd fastest bike splint on a 20 mile sprint tri the next weekend. It is simply awesome. I am seriously thinking of getting the regular one for my 5200.
I have sold 6 and have not had one returned. The saddle seams to work well for everyone.
For those who have experience with both the regular and tri versions, what is the difference, if any? I’m riding the tri and like it a lot, although I don’t have enough experience with other saddles to make any comparisons.
the tri version has more padding towards the nose. i don’t think the difference is all that noticeable, so i think most users would be fine with using the raod arione version, which costs slightly less. but they’re both terrific saddles and will probably improve more once they get to break in a little more.
i returned both of the editions that i bought. i’m not saying that it is good or bad, just not right for me. i’m small and ride with a very narrow footprint, so i need a very slim saddle and more area for sitting is wasted on me as i am up on the nose. there is no “one” best saddle. i don’t buy it. i also do not buy that a saddle has a significant impact on your bike split as long as you are comfotable. i think it is interesting and good technology, but a saddle is not going to rotate the pedals for you.
