After riding my new Adamo Typhoon for a week now, it struck me that Steve Toll, the inventor of the Adamo, just have come up with the idea after sitting on the john reading a magazine for several hours and noticing the lack of perineal pressure!
Toilet seat:
Touring saddle:
My new Typhoon saddle:
No wonder it’s so comfortable. Wonder if I could handle 112 miles on a toilet seat?
What kind of vertical/horizontal adjustments did you make for your Adamo after your old seat? I just got the race version and I can’t seem to make the correct adjustments. Specifically front and back, how did you use the distances from your old seat and bring to the Adamo (if that makes sense).
Any chance you could post a picture of your bike with the saddle on it?
I tried the race, and can’t get past 3 hours on it, no matter how I adjust or sit on it. There just isnt enough pad on the fork part of it. I have been considering the road or typhoon, but the typhoon looks awful big. Does it look ok on your ride?

Thanks in advance!!
I basically lined up the cutout on the Adamo with the cutout on my old Profile saddle (took some measurements of the Profile’s cutout position and used them when installing the Adamo). That’s how I positioned it. I had to lower the seat post a bit because the Adamo is a taller saddle on the rails. The tilt was where I’ve had to do a couple of tweaks. I started with it tilted down a fair bit, but found myself scooting back a lot and there was too much weight on my arms/aerobars. Then, I tilted it up a bit, but still slightly downward and ended up moving it back on the rails a bit, and now it seems to be ideal. I like to sit up on the back of the saddle for climbing and this one is a bit wider than the road and race versions providing a nice platform for that. When I’m going hard, I basically have the prongs between my legs, and my nads hanging off the front of the thing.

Looks great, I think. I’ll try to get a photo tomorrow. Basically, it’s just a bit wider in the back as compared to the Road and Race version, but otherwise, the front is the same width and the length is pretty similar. Check the specs on the Adamo site: www.ismseat.com
Ah very clever. Your finding new ways to infuse this crackhead. He wasn’t eating, what’s up? At least not in the 1:01 that I watched. What the hell was up with that sweater? Did he just get done refereeing a basketball game?
one of the guys in our ride this morning had a new adomo, the race version, and it gave him cramps and a charley horse in the glutes. He ended up walking and getting a ride in from an early finisher.
Obviously he had the saddle adjusted incorrectly then. Sore sit bones maybe, but causing muscle cramps? I’m assuming due to bad positioning, it is easy to incorrectly position it, as the angle and lack of nose makes the dimensions much different than a nosed saddle.
Was the tip of the saddle the same distance to the head tube as your old saddle? If so, then that would be fit wrong. If not then what exactly hurt? Your legs or your sit bones?
Thanks for the pics. It doesnt look bad at all. I have a profile tri-stryke due to arrive next week. If that doesnt suit me, I’ll be tying the typhoon.
