I’m really surprised that Clas received a drafting penalty as he is a fanatic about NOT drafting. Won’t even do it in training…

I heard from someone that it was a very early blocking penalty. I think it was in the first little section around town where everyone comes out close to each other and jockey for position. Tough break but it looked as he was taking in fluids and making the best of it.

Who says it was drafting? Could have been something else, blocking perhaps…

I was bothered by Allen’s 95 race until I talked to Thomas Helriegel about it. He told me that he wasn’t bothered by Allen drafting since he was so happy with taking 2nd place at IMH and battling with a legend like Mark Allen.

From that point I figured that if Helriegel wasn’t bothered by it, why should I be. Also this shows the true sportsmanship by Thomas Helriegel.

I saw Thomas race IMC in 96. Most amazing race I’ve actually seen live. The guy is a total class act. He doesn’t seem like a guy to make excuses. He scored more points with me when he tried to get my man Peter to run with in 2001. Like I said class act and no excuses.
