Is profile design crazy?

Just poppin my head round the LBS. Noticed they had a pair Profile Design Sonic Stryke aerobar in. What shocked me though was the price tag. They had it listed for $275. I thought, man these guy’s don’t know what their doing, but then I got home and did some checking. Profile lists the retail for those between $260 and $280. My question, Why?
They aren’t that light (compared to syntace)
They arn’t really any more aero (remember it’s still a clip-on)
And they don’t even look $280 cool. Maybe $180, but in no way $280.

I also was checking out their Aluminum-X. They want over $285 for it. what confuses me is, it heavier, less aero, not much cheaper, and not as cool as just about any other one-piece out there.

Just to be clear, I’m not knockin on their product or anything, I just fail to see why there is such a price hike for their equipment, when everyone else seems to keep bring out new technology for less. Can someone enlighten me?

Because Profile knows that Triathlon Junkies will pay the price.

No one can enlighten you, Ze Gopha, but hopefully you just enlightened not only a lot of consumers but also Profile…

Excellent observation.
