If so, where? (F.Y.I No pro spots for winning Disney half.)
IMC.
and if he doesn’t, he is still 5 time world champ…not bad for a ‘sail’ LOL
Ha ha ha
.
He’s a legend in my book (and the only Brit we have to cheer for these days). The posting was driven by concern that he won’t be there for us Brits to build-up before the race and then get all depressed when it goes wrong a la Paula Radclif, the British lions, the first test against Australia, etc, etc. Was not intended to bash his credentials which are of course awesome.
N.B. We did however win the football (soccer) world cup in 1996 and the rugby world cup in 2003!!
if you won the soccer world cup in 96, it’s only because the rest of the world was playing it in 98 and WE won it
you won it in 66…
Here’s your answer straight from the World’s Greatest Triathlete…
Looks like it might be Korea!

typing error - sorry not the first or last!!
Pretty cool that these dudes like Lessing, Bjorn and Desiree come out to the forum to communicate to their fans and critics when their races do not go as planned. Sure takes lots of guts. It is pretty incredible the class that these people have, jumping into a shark tank filled with critics who they could out ride with half a leg and a quarter lung…
It would be great to see Lessing add Hawaii to his already stacked resume of short course and long course world championship wins !
Dev
Simon’s listed under MPRO in participant list for ironman canada so appears thats where he will be and not in korea…
Very cool indeed…
Looks like Simon will crush them up in Canada.
Go Simon!!!
When is Canada?
Unless something technical happens or he gets sick, he should have no problem qualifying for IMH at IMC.
Gordo’s goal was to win IMC this year - it would have been his long overdue first IM win. Had he not retired, I wonder how he would have reacted to Lessing racing IMC. As we all know, Gordo can unleash a solid run, but he would have had to have a amazing bike split also to go head to head with Lessing.

and we (usa) in 99! and before that, too, i think.
I’ll take Mia Hamm over Didier Deschamps any day.
Simon should get an invitation to Kona. He shouldn’t have to “qualify”. By virtue of his un-paralled 15 years of excellence and what he brings to any event he has already “qualified”. And he should be given credit for making an honest effort to comply with normal channels of qualification. I know there is the concept of fairness in this process and there’s the idea that a precedent might be set for exceptions but he is an execpetion. He is “THE” exception.
yep. LVL and Isabelle Mouthon both got an invitation when they won Nice. SL won everything but Kona.
Thing is racing IMC will likely hurt his chances for a win in Kona
