Is it still a birthday if you don't age up?

Me: “my birthday is this Saturday.”
My cycling, swimming or running buddy: “Happy Birthday! How old?”
Me: “36”
Buddy: “oh, so you are not aging up.”

Repeat FOUR times this past week. I thought this was funny. Every single conversation has gone like this, practically verbatim!

Either way-- Happy Birthday!

Indeed, happy birthday to you!

I will be aging up in a few weeks. I’m not so happy about it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

+1 on aging up in a little over 2 weeks. I guess that means we have a real birthday, QRGirl. Bah… We need a cupcake pity party. Or, celebration depending on how we are feeling that day. Or, maybe it is both.

Damn you are all so old.

Happy birthday to all of us! I left a copy of Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World in a conspicuous place and have pointed out to my husband on more than one occasion how much I love cupcakes!

Plus, I am swimming the 1650 on Sunday. I promised my coach I’d have plenty of carbs on Saturday.

Is it wrong to say that I’m glad JenHS and QRGirl are aging up - that keeps you out of my age group. I don’t want to be racing against you gals - it’ll just drop my race results back that much further.

Ha! I’m no threat to your AG ranking, trust me.

Perhaps we need to start a thread titles “I’m turning 40 this year and I can’t take it”

at what age do you start disliking birthdays?

I turn 22 this year, I can’t wait.

  1. Once you turn 29 there is no going back to childhood. You no longer have an excuse to act like an idiot. Those were the good old days…

Maybe some of us idiots aren’t acting!

.

How about “I’m turning 40 this year and hope it thins out the competition a little?”
.

Turned 40 last Sunday and I am with you on that!
