Does anyone know how I should go about trying to get my registration for Lake Placid deferred to next year? The reason why is because I was in a pretty nasty bike/truck accident (with me on the bike) a few months ago and my resulting injuries have left me unable to train. However, I would like to try for 2006. I am registered as a community fund team member, any advice on how to go about this would be appreciated!

**Refund/Withdrawal Policy for Ironman North America races **Athletes who withdraw by the applicable date will receive a partial refund of $150 US or $200 Cdn for full Ironman races and $75US for half Ironman races.
There will be NO REFUNDS of any sort, for any reason, after the withdrawal date.
Please notify the Ironman North America office by using the withdrawal form below. Refunds for all participants will be by check through the Ironman North America office. Entries are not transferable between years nor races. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing of your refund.
**Withdrawal requests must be received by the following dates: ** Ironman Arizona - 02/28/2006 Ironman Coeur d’Alene - 05/15/2005 Ironman Canada - 07/15/2005 Ironman Florida - 09/15/2005 Ironman Lake Placid - 06/01/2005 Ironman Wisconsin - 07/31/2005 California Half Ironman - 02/01/2006 Florida Half Ironman - 04/01/2005 WITHDRAWAL CLOSED

I had to cancel IMFL last year due to business conflicts overseas and asked to defer - the answer is no. I took the partial refund and reapplied that towars IMAZ this year
Best bet if you are 100% certain you will not race - is take the partial refund.
The only entries that can be deferred to the following year are Community Fund Slots

After Hurricance Ivan last Sept, we lost homes, bikes, all our vehicles, Delta stopped flying so we could not leave the Island etc… a rare thing to say the least, but IMNA were phenomenal in actually communicating with us and agreeing to transfer entry to this year’s IMFL…
But, once again, it was an extreme case. I was impressed by their support and compassion. the great lady I dealt with was Melody Givens… amazing customer service.

I guess nobody noticed this, I think community fund is allowed to transfer. Check with IMNA they will give you the info.
Wow! What a crazy thing to go through, I am glad that you are okay.
I will just wait to hear back from them, but I was just curious if anyone else had experience with this.
