Is it OK to mix tubular glues?

I have a set of Conti Competitions glued to CF rims with Vittoria Mastik. I’d like to change the Comps to Conti Sprinter Gatorskins (training rubber) and I have a nice new can of Continental Tubular Glue. I’d prefer not to take off all the previous glue (Vittoria glue) that’s left on the rims. Will the glue job be good if I simply layer on Conti glue over the old Vittoria glue? The tubulars will get a layer of Conti glue before mounting.

Simply put: will the two different glues still work?

Oh I think that would be cool to say mix the old red Clement glue with say white Vittoria glue and get pink glue.LOL. All kidding aside I have used Vittoria and Conti glues together before with no issue. Some cements do dry harder than others. Clement is one of those. I have found that Vittoria drys the softest. You should be ok just remember I recomend 3 coats of glue.

normally, I’d say ‘sure’. However, I’d check this out first.

If you don’t have the voluntary recall glue, I wouldn’t worry about it.
