Here’s a big question for all you endurance freaks out there. I’m looking at possibly doing a 1/2 IM in mid sept. I’ve been doing a lot of riding, mostly mtn biking, but w/ my long ride at about 55 mi on the road. There’s also some running thrown in a few days a week at around 20 mi/week (long run around 8mi). The swimming has been neglected (i figure i can fake that anyways, i go insane following the black line), but if i determine that this race is doable (aka: can be finished in the MOP w/ a smile on my face at the end) then the swimming will be factored into the weekly workouts. So what do ya’ll think? Is it feasible and worth my 100$ entry fee?

Are you ready to race a 1/2? Hell, I don’t know - but I do want to know where you can find one that only costs $100! I am doing Big Kahuna and it’s something like $175!
Your cost difference is probably due to the venue. Let’s see here… race in hawaii $175. race in the middle of bumf*ck south carolina, $100. personally, i’d rather pay the extra 75$
Hawaii? no, I wish. Big Kahuna is in Santa Cruz, CA - not quite bumfck nowhere, but close. Even the races in Bumfck California are $$ - tough to get more bumf*ck than Wildflower…
