Is Du Nationals going to be a draft-fest?

What are people’s thoughts on this? Are the waves going to be spaced enough and is the bike course difficult enough to avoid this being a Clearwater-type event?

Thanks.

Du nationals is a nationals because its the nationals, not because its a National.

I think you are going to see times all over the place and i wouldn’t worry about it too much.

It won’t be a draft fest. It rolls a bit especially on the back half. Fairly technical with many turns. A good fun course. Three roughly 8 mile loops. Bridge crossing that are roughly a third of a mile long out and back twice per lap would be the flattest, straightest portions. A good 45-60 second climb right before lone turnaround point should separate any wheel suckers.

I agree with what Dave posted. It will happen some, but not for long. It’s Richmond, not Florida. There are actual lines on a contour map. Unless you are very equally matched to someone coming out of T1, and have very similar handling skills, there really won’t be many places to wheel suck.
