Is camp pendelton now open for all?

I have heard that pendelton is open to riders, is this just for ralphs or a change in policy?

it was open to cyclists up till last week, then apparently they closed it down again this week. Although I have heard of one or two cyclists getting on. Should be back to being open again after the race this weekend.

Mike,

From the race expo/Oceanside harbor is there a ride I can do going South? Looking for about 32-36 miles. Thanks.

I haven’t ridden there in over a decade, but assumed it would be closed due to security issues. I’m going to be in town for a conference in a couple of weeks, and if it is open, what do you need for ID to get on? Is the Wed morning Gary’s Wheel World ride still going? If not, anything comparable?

Thanks

Be sure to have all your paperwork squared away at the INS this time. We wouldn’t want you to be deported or anything…Of course, it being California, being a white Canadian allows you to travel incognito.

But if you do get nailed, you could at least let us know how Syria is these days…

Your concern touches my heart. I hear Syria is quite nice these days. Granted, traveling on Homeland Security’s dime might change one’s perspective. BTW, I prefer alabaster Canadian, thank you very much.

Want to fill us in on the acronym. I assume it doesn’t stand for metabolic equivalent.

Martytram’s Evil Twin

That about says it all.

LOL!!! Too bad nobody else will appreciate it.

Shawn,

you can ride south on Highway 101. It’s not too bad, bike lane most of the way except through Encinitas for about 3 miles. You’ll pass by Nytro in Enicinitas, then B&L in Solona Beach. If you turn around at B&L that will give you about 35 miles round trip.

i’m not sure when this happenned or if this is just hearsay about getting on base but I tried to get on base with two other cyclists in January and they told us that unless we had military id or were with someone who did and could sign off on us that we weren’t allowed to ride through the base.

Hey! I appreciate it.

So if you do get deported, does that mean we all get A’s?
