I have a Serotta Legend Ti road bike that I ordered in 1994 and received in February 1995. I have the date I first rode it in my log book, which fortuitous, as that was the day I also had my first date with my now-wife of 22 years (this Friday).
For ten years, it was my only bike (I swapped out the handlebars for aerobars for triathlon training/racing). Then I switched to mainly a Cervelo TT bike, but this year rebuilt the Serotta and now I switch between the two.
Glad you’re back to Serotta. Serotta makes finest classic bikes. No wonder John Kerry has a fleet of Serotta bikes. Interesting to know also that Ben Serotta helped redesign the Citi Bike for New York City bike sharing system. For me though Citi Bike riders are as dangerous as NYC cab drivers during my bike commute to work…
I love my Serotta Colorado CR. Sweet ride, but it’s been hanging up in the garage, unloved, for a few years now. I’ll be selling my Trek carbon roadie and going back to the Serotta pretty soon though!
