Ironman Wisconsin (2)

Who is doing Ironman Wisconsin this year? I did it in 2007 and am doing it again this year. Let me know if you have questions about the course.

Sure thing!

Im IN!

I am doing Ironman Wisconsin this year. It will be my first Ironman. But luckily i go to school at UW so I have all spring/summer to mess around on the course.
My first two years at college i was so confused at what the hell was going on the weekend after labor day. Then i learned what a ironman was and had to do one.

It’s going to take the Revelations to keep me from getting there.

Can you tell me why, if it’s partly a 2 loop course, why the elevation profile for the Computrainer file for it doesn’t match from the first to second loop sections? Any idea?

Unfortunately, the Computrainer people don’t know when the IMWI real course video will be released, which I was planning on using to get familiar. But, based on the CT file, I didn’t realize how much up and down there is. Am I being fooled, or there really are a lot of climbs? I am not sure what to make of it now – not that I care, but I had it in my mind that the WI and Louisville courses were about the same.

I’m in.

Big, fat wobbly mess right now so I better tune up for September. 1st time there after 3 IMC and some little race in the middle of the Pacific.

Course bikes out of the city, you do two loops west of the city and then bike back into Madison—that is why the elavation doesn’t match. Lots of hills on the course, nothing too long but just lots and lots of up and down.

The bike course is relativity flat from Madison until Verona. The loop(s) starts in Verona and are full of rolling hills and approximately three big hills. Not sure what’s up with the CompuTrainer , because I don’t have one.

It should match. You can think of the course like a p and a q. First you do the stick and then the circle and then you do the circle again and finish with the stick. There are many long rollers on the course. The hills on the bike are not the killers to me, it’s the hills on the run. Get a CT file for that course and run it. Also, go watch the course on SimplyStu.com.
