Ironman Web Cast

Is very good! Ain’t gonna get shit done today.

damn right about that!

I was able to get my recording going. This is going to be cool to be able to go back and watch any point in the webcast, or even to edit a highlights video. It’s highly compressed, and at the rate it’s feeding at the whole thing from the pro start to the top female pro will only require around 2 GB of disk space.

What are you using. I’m using net transport and I’m already up to 76MB. Yikes. I’m clearing hd right now.

I’m using HiDownload 6.8. I’m up to 228 MB after recording for 55 min., but that’s only 240 MB/hr., which won’t be a problem as I have a partition with 10 GB emptied out for this purpose.

Hey David, I might have to pm you about taking you up on your offer of burning a dvd of the day, if the offer still stands.

Excuse the technostupidity of the question … but can you make this file available on some torrent site (or whatever it’s called) for a few days following the race?

Thanks

I think it will save about 400MB/hr. I think I’ll be ok with 10GB cleared. I’ll compress later.

Trying to get my computer to output to my TV. Have the s-video plugged in to reciever and computer but nothing. Any computer types have the answer??

Thanks

I’m a regular bittorrent user for music (I’m a jazz music freak), but I am not familiar with the other file sharing sites. If someone could point me to one I wouldn’t mind uploading. I’m no video editor, but I could see splitting the coverage into swim / bike / run segments and torrenting separately.

Alternately, we could start a “tree,” like we do with music, where one person gets a copy and makes and sends a copy to the next person down the line. But I’m getting ahead of myself here, as I’ve never tried recording live streaming video before.

I’ve been accessing http://www.mininova.org/ and http://www.bitenova.org/ for all my TV needs.
