Ironman WC Kona 2024 - Predictions & Race Day Ticker

Aren’t swim skins good for a couple seconds per 100?

He won Kalmar in 2022 as well (sub 8?)!

In the Sam Laidlow video above, that initially is only 1 day old, he is “back” to using his MET Drone helmet, not the one he used in Ibiza … Maybe the footage is old - dunno

Yes he has signed a Ekoi helmet deal since, as you say. So must be pretty old footage.
Wonder what could be so different in the new extensions. That they felt the need to blur it. Base shape looked near identical.

They needed to blur something, for vidramatic effect.

Amazing videos from Bækkegaard, stunnning views on that run, lakes & forrest!
But I wonder if that strategy of staying in colder climate so close to Kona, is any good?

His editor Mitch is right up there as one of the best in the game. I hope he’s headed to Kona with Daniel.

Watched it this morning on the trainer, man it was so good! His and Lagerstrom’s videos are best in class. I love Talbot’s work with Lionel, but it’s a different type, more informational, not cinematic.

You can train much harder in cold climate (more cooling for higher mechanical forces), and there is still two weeks to get to Kona, so maybe he is maximizing hard training in cool and he still have time for adaptations to Kona heat in the last ten days when his training load is lighter anyway

RVB on Factor: Rudy von Berg on Instagram: "Proud and excited to announce my partnership with @factorbikes . Factor is a premium brand originally from England where they started at the highest levels of design with some of the fastest, most prestigious brands in the world including Ferrari, Aston Martin etc. They then developed bikes and have been working with UCI ProTour teams for years now. I can’t be more confident in the bike I’ll be riding from now on. 🎥 @itskennywithrow"

First time a pro has raced the Hanzo in Kona?

That would be a sensible take on what he is doing.

It´s a simple triangular trade-off between 1) “can´t get any stronger now before race day”, 2) tapering and 3) getting enough heat/Kona acclimatization" - the latter historically showing to be critical over and over again

I think you will see more and more of Factor in the tri space

He’s going to have a different water bottle setup for Kona, right?

Rudy ? I have no idea. I have never met, spoke…to him. Nick might know.

I work a lot with people on Factor bikes so I kind of like them for all their strengths and weakness

Hype?

Laura Siddall last year in Kona, may have been others.

Single bta, double bts, aero frame bottle.

re: Siddall on the Hanzo - that’s right, and I’ve seen her around Boulder on that quite a bit last year
