can someone tell me how the run courses for Canada, Placid, and Wisconsin compare in terms how hilly they are …thanks i cant seem to find a elevation profile for the Canada run course
.
The Wisconsin course is pretty flat except for the climb up Observatory. Last year they modified the course so you only did this hill from one direction each loop, in prior years you hit it from both sides.
I did my long runs by the Jersey shore and the D&R Canal and had no problems.
Go to one of the race websites (www.ironmanwisconsin.com) and click on course. You can pull up the run profile for all IMNA races and compare.
there is a bigger climb out of OK Falls at IMC than anything on MOO, but the rest of the way is relatively flat to mildy rolling. the hill is about 2km and starts almost immediately after the turn around at 13miles
But IMC is a bit more lonely as there is a long stretch along Skaha that is closed to traffic so fewer spectators.
The big difference is 1 loop v 2 loops and MOO runs through the town for most of the run.
For IMC you can check www.ironmap.com - they have lots of details on bike and run course profile.
