Ironman predictions 2004

I got it right last year (see last year’s “ironman predicitons” thread), so here are my predictions for this year’s top five (in order of finish 1 to 5):

MEN: Reid, Brown, DeBoom, Lessing (late fade on run), Macca (survives the run this time)

WOMEN: Bowden, Bentley, Badmann, Fuhr, Kraft

I won’t be there this year so good luck to all!

I’ll call you on the men. Gentleman’s bet on Lessing. I like your call for the women but Bentley won’t be that high up.

I’d like to see DeBoom back on top. It would be fun to see Macca have a great race also. What a thrill for Lessing to win- it could happen.

Likely a duel between Reid and DeBoom.

Tim, have you posted in Tom Zeibart’s ironman prediction thread yet? there is ~120 posts there already although not all of them are predictions. he is giving prizes for the best predicton (originally just an autographed hat, but now includes a shirt and gatorade endurance formula.

Are Reid and Bowden healthy?

Both had injury problems this year.

No way Badmann will not win the womens race!

Bowden is my favorite, but you can tell that Badmann is hungry!

I also called a Reid / Bowden race last year.

I think TDB will outrun all this year.

TDB, Lessing, Reid, …

Reid and Bowden are both healthy (I hear through the grapevine anyway)
