I was chatting to a mate I had not seen in a while the other day. Whilst talking about race plans for 2007, he tells me that he plans on doing IM Wisconsin next year, but has not yet got around to entering. My understanding is that entries are now closed & the race is full, so I’m a bit sceptical.
However, he tells me that the way in is to write to IMNA with a short racing CV, & the fact that he is an overseas (UK) entrant & bingo he gets a spot. He used the same strategy in 2004 at the same race & got his spot about 6 months prior to the race. He’s not super-fast, standard MOP stuff.
Has anyone on the forum heard of this ? Will it work for all IMNA races ? Does it only work for overseas entrants ?
Thanks, John.
