Looking for the ideal spot to cheer on the Ironman Louisville cyclists? If so, the LaGrange Ironman Festival is just for you! Historic LaGrange offers several blocks of shaded viewing with a variety of local restaurants, unique shops and fun attractions. Watch the cyclists pass through town twice (miles 38 and 68) as they conquer the LaGrange Loop. Presented by Discover DowntownLaGrange, the festival includes many children’s activities such as face painting, a rock wall and a large inflatable bounce house.
LaGrange is located just 25 minutes north of downtown Louisville on I-71 at Exit 22. Plenty of parking will be available within walking distance from the bike course. Please visit discoverdowntownlagrange.org (there’s a link at Ironman.com too) for more information on LaGrange and the Ironman festival. See you there!
Unfortunately, there aren’t shuttle busses from the transition area in downtown Louisville for this inaugural race. Locally we have heard of folks carpooling out, but we have no way of organizing that.
Rob, can you help me convince my 11 and 8 year old kids to do this instead of Six Flags. Also, will there be any computers with internet access to check splits so spectators can estimate when their “loved ones” will be coming by?
I don’t know how much help I could be convincing your kids to come, I have enough trouble with my own. As for computers, yes, in addition to available computers at the local book store (with wi-fi) for people to keep up with their loved ones, the announcer will be announcing racers as the approach the viewing area. We can’t guarantee that they’ll announce every one, but they’ll do their best.
