IRONMAN Lanzarote M 50–54 race report

I had a slow day, so it was a long day. And it’s also a loooong report.

Spoiler alert, it was hot, windy, hilly, and a lot of fun. Details here :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Nice report. Cool that you had Scott speak to your MBA class. I’d like to hear more about how you set that up, how long it was, what he said, etc.

Next, I’ve always wondered about cutting the stickers if someone would ever complain. By any chance was the official German?

Lastly, reading through that thinking about how epic a course it is, I wonder if Club La Santa could be flirting with the idea of a Challenge race. Surprised they would just end it, unless they are paying an arm and a leg to Ironman, in which case, Challenge could make sense.

Great report, great details and great pics! You did a great time there as well, kudos!

The top pros really are insane at how fast they SBR compared to us mortals. When you actually see it in person in the same race you did, you quickly realize that all the criticisms and other stuff they get online is really petty compared to how awesomely talented and skilled they are at what they do.

The sticker stickler official sounded Nordic more than German to me, but maybe it was German …

That’s a great race report, loved the light tone! And… a seriously impressive marathon for those conditions and that bike effort.

Enjoyed reading your race report - thanks for sharing and congrats on your race!

Thanks for this great race report. My wife asked me yesterday what’s my bucket list race and I said straight away Lanzarote. It is also fairly easy to get to from Paris Orly so I hope I can make it once I go back full distance

Hate to be the one to break it to you but this year was the last.

Nope. This year is the last where Club La Santa is the title sponsor, but this year is not the last Ironman Lanzarote.
